Beach Cleanup
Cambria Inns Collection can provide you with all the supplies you need to do a little beach clean-up while you explore the natural wonders of the Cambria area. Not all travelers are quite as concerned about our environment, but for those of you who consider it a priority, an hour of your time can remove a lot of unwanted trash from our beaches making them safer for the wildlife along our coast.
Exploring the Fiscalini Ranch
There are several opportunities for additional learning by visiting the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve and taking one of the docent led tours. These unique walks will enlighten you on local flora and fauna as local experts lead the tours. For those looking to find out more about our marine sanctuary, a visit to the San Simeon State Beach and the visitor center will provide more detail about the efforts there to expand our coastal protected areas. A drive a bit farther north and you will find the Elephant Seal Rookery with docents and information about these gigantic pinnipeds who inhabit this stretch of beach. A glimpse into the tide pools at low tide reveals an underwater community teeming with tiny creatures. Sea otters, whales, dolphins, and the like are visible off our coastline at all times of the year. Visiting makes it clear this is an area we all need to protect.

If a beach picnic is more your style, visit the newly reopened Soto's True Earth Market for a great selection or specialty foods with a healthy focus or local grocer, Cookie Crock also has great selections.
