Festivals & Events in Cambria This Winter
Many people look to the months following the holiday season as a time to slow down and chill. We think it’s way more fun to keep the festivities going well into the new year. And, with the art, wine and film-focused events in Cambria this January and February, we actually have something to look forward to after the holiday decorations are put away. Coastal Discovery & Stewardship Film Festival
The famed Hearst Castle is located just 10 miles north of Cambria. If you’ve never visited, now there’s even more reason to go. Starting January 18th, The Hearst Theater will be showing the most critically acclaimed giant screen film of 2019, National Parks Adventure, as part of the Coastal Discovery & Stewardship Film Festival. With screenings at 6pm and 7pm, and subsequent screenings each Saturday for the next seven weeks, this awe-inspiring film, narrated by Robert Redford, will take you on an adventure through the unspoiled beauty of our national parks. It’s a great way to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the national parks without leaving your seat. It may even help you find a whole new appreciation for the great outdoors.
Cambria Art & Wine Festival
The 18th annual Cambria Art & Wine Festival returns January 24 – 26, 2020. This festival offers attendees three days to sip fine wine while admiring unique artwork in the seaside community of Cambria. Enjoy all this for just $40 per person. Highlights of the celebration include demonstrations by local artists, a silent auction and art show reception, raffles, and a five-course dinner. Plus, there will be plenty of opportunities to taste wine from Central Coast wineries. Make a weekend of it or simply experience it for a day. Either way, you’re sure to get a glimpse into Cambria’s artistic side, and possibly discover a new favorite wine along the way.
Cambria Film Festival
Cozy up to a love story on the big screen during the Cambria Film Festival this February 6 – 9, 2020. More than 3,000 films from around the world were entered into the film competition portion of the festival. Of these, only 68 were chosen for festival goers’ viewing pleasures. The Cambria Film Festival offers a plethora of romantic films and comedies worth seeking out. These include shorts, features, and documentaries, some of which are free to the public. While the VIP festival passes are sold out, individual day passes are still available and will guarantee you priority early seating.
BlendFest on the Coast
No need to head inland to experience a taste of Paso Robles’ world-class wine, thanks to BlendFest on the Coast. Taking place February 20 – 23, 2020 in San Simeon and Cambria, this non-traditional wine festival celebrates blended wines from the Central Coast through a variety of unique experiences. Enjoy a sunset Grand Tasting featuring over 40 wineries to a wine and painting experience at Piedras Blancas Light Station.
