Paso Robles Wine Festival

Paso Robles Wine Festival:

Paso Robles is home to California’s newest wine country and the close proximity to Cambria means you can explore wine tasting by day, and bring back a bottle of your favorite local libation to enjoy at the coast!  This year, we celebrate the 35th annual Paso Robles Wine Festival from May 18-21.

Wine and Dine:

This year’s event kicks off with two fabulous dinners. Select an all-inclusive four-course winemaker dinner with four of Paso’s best producers at Thomas Hill Organics’ collaborative winemaker dinner.  Or choose an all-inclusive family-style, big bottle, wine share dinner at the Hatch, where three of Paso’s most entertaining producers will mingle with diners throughout the three-course meal, pouring some killer Paso wine from big bottles. Advance purchase only. Seating extremely limited for both dinner events.  For a culinary-focused tasting experience, get your tickets for the Friday May 19 Reserve Event where 74 wineries join local restaurants to offer two of their best wines within the categories of Reserve, Library, White/Rosé or Futures. Taste fare from local restaurants paired perfectly with the wines from 4:00-6:30.

Weekend Events:

The weekend brings over 70 wineries to participate and showcase their wines during the Grand Tasting.  The wineries will be arranged by regions for a unique tasting experience.  Whether you like Bordeaux-style, Rhône-style, Zinfandel, Burgundian-style, or perhaps the Italian varieties, there is certain to be something to delight your palate.  There will be food samples and local artisans sharing their wares.  Live music on the main stage by Ricky Montijo and the Mojitos, one of the most in-demand artists on the West Coast with soulful, smoky vocals, and an unmatched versatility. His sets boast unique covers and hot originals in the genres of Soul, Rock, Latin, and Funk.  Also on hand will be Guitar Circus, the ‘All Request Guitar Duo’ from San Luis Obispo CA! Taking your requests and having a fun time doing it!  Basque in the experience as you stroll the park or sit in the picnic area and enjoy the music.

The exciting and educational Winemaker Seminar is on Saturday, May 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the Paso Robles Inn Ballroom . Listen and taste along as a panel of winemakers explore characteristics classic to Paso Robles wines.  Seating is limited and will sell-out!  For more information about the festival and to purchase tickets visit their website here.

Cambria Wine Tasting:

Cambria has some wonderful wineries and is part of the Pacific Coast Wine Trail which stretches from San Simeon to Morro Bay along Highway 1.   Take a country drive along San Simeon Creek Road to find the Stolo Family Winery or cruise along Main Street in Cambria to taste wines from Black Hand Cellars, Moonstone Cellars, and Twin Coyotes.  More information about the Pacific Coast Wine Trail here.

Tasting rooms are another way to sample some new wines before selecting a wine country day trip itinerary.  In the village of Cambria, you will find Wine:Taste, Fermentations, and Madeline’s with amazing offerings from local vintners.
