In recent years, the Paso Robles wineries region has become as renowned as any in the country. The area is immersed with lush vineyards that include such varietals as Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Syrah, and many other Rhone styles.
We picked out a few favorites:
Hope Family Wines is committed to sustainable growing practices that promote vine health, improve wine quality, and ensure that growers remain profitable. This multipronged approach to growing, from winter pruning through fall harvest, ensures we use only the finest grapes for each of our labels. The Hope family has been farming in Paso Robles for more than 30 years. Hope Family Wines consists of five individual brands: Liberty School, Treana, Candor, Austin Hope, Troublemaker.
Tobin James Cellars is famous for crafting spectacular Zinfandels. He creates as many as ten different Zinfandel wines a year, all uniquely and incredibly wonderful. A huge following has developed for all of his opulent big reds. The old Western style tasting room has a 150 year-old ornate mahogany bar, and there’s always lively Country Rock music casually playing while you’re enjoying the company of the fun and knowledgeable staff and tasting the amazing array of fine wines. Children are always welcome (free video games!)
Vina Robles Winery crafts wines that represent a stylistic bridge between the Old and New worlds, capturing the finesse associated with European wines while celebrating the bold natural flavors of their estate vineyards in Paso Robles. Robert Hall Winery Tucked into the hillsides east of Paso Robles, along California’s enchanting Central Coast, is a dream 40 years in the making. At Robert Hall Winery, hard work and infinite attention to detail are invested into every bottle of wine. As farmers first, the goal is to nurture the land and coax the finest fruit possible from the vineyards on the Hall Ranch. Robert Hall Winery is the result of an old-fashioned work ethic combined with traditional winemaking techniques, state-of-the-art equipment and a team of dedicated professionals.
Cass Winery The 145-acre Cass Vineyard is located in the rolling, oak-studded hills between Paso Robles and Creston on California’s beautiful Central Coast. This area offers quiet serenity for the visitor and an ideal growing environment for wine grapes. One hundred percent of the wines crafted at Cass Winery are estate grown, harvested from vines that began producing in 2003. Visitors can literally touch, taste, see and smell the grapes from the block where they were harvested.
Adelaida Vineyards & Winery Nestled in the hills west of Paso Robles, Adelaida Vineyards and Winery is a family-owned estate dedicated to honoring it’s rich history while embracing innovative winemaking and sustainable farming practices. The estate’s diverse microclimates, terrain, and soils allow for a wide range of organically grown grapes, resulting in complex wines that capture the essence of our westside mountain terroir. From crisp Grenache Blanc and earthy Pinot Noir to robust Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, Adelaida offers a selection to satisfy every palate.
