Wine tasting is better at the beach!
There are many opportunities to visit a local winery or tasting room right in Cambria.
What is better than staying at the beach and walking into town for wine tasting? Enjoy local offerings or venture to the Paso Robles wine region, a short drive from Cambria or take a wine bus so you can enjoy your wine without driving.
Local Tasting Rooms
Cambria has tasting rooms for several of the wineries on the Pacific Coast Wine Trail so you can enjoy the unique offerings like Black Hand Cellars, Moonstone Cellars, Twin Coyotes, and Cuttruzola, and be sure to stop by 927 Beer and taste the locally brewed offerings. In the Historic East Village you will find Wine:Taste and Fermentations which carry a great selection of local and imported wines for purchase and tasting. In the East Village, Madeline's has a wine shop with a nice eclectic selection of wines to try.
Paso Robles Wine Country
In recent years, the Paso Robles wineries region has become the new Napa. The area is immersed with lush vineyards that include such varietals as Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Syrah, and many other Rhone styles. Several different festivals take place throughout the year celebrating the industry’s harvest. We suggest taking a wine tour when visiting the Paso Robles wineries so you can discover this breathtaking and unpretentious wine region with a relaxing ride through the rugged hills, rows of vineyards, beautiful blue skies and taste some of the finest wines in the country…and leave the driving to them!
Wine Dining
Sea Chest and Moonstone Beach Bar and Grill offer awesome ocean views, great wine lists and fabulous menus. In town, enjoy local favorites like Robins. Old Stone Station, Madeline's, Black Cat Bistro,, and the Sow's Ear. all of which carry local and imported wines. If you prefer to bring your own wine, most places charge a nominal corkage fee. If a beach picnic is more your style, visit the newly reopenedSoto's True Earth Market for a great selection or specialty foods with a healthy focus or local grocer, Cookie Crock which also has a good wine department! Cambrians do enjoy a nice glass of wine so our local merchants have great selections.
